this piece of water looks eerily similar to one of my favorite small
streams of all time, a tributary to the nantahala river.

thanks

Hi Dave,

Yes, this is a place that I fish quite often. It's something like 50km
from where I live. It has some resident browns and grayling, some
sea-run browns, and a lot of stocked rainbows. I go there to relax,
enjoy the scenery and practice casting. And have a great lunch. :-)

This place is in southern Finland where it's quite lush. Vegetation
gets slowly more barren once you proceed up north to Lappland.

Hi Jarmo,

first of all : great to hear from you again.
I like the photo's, but the water seems abit coloured; brownish.
Is it more clear at different times ?

Please keep posting pics like this !
I would like some of your grayling pics too !

Greetz,

i agree with hans; we would consider water of that color and relative
depth unfishable.

i suppose the photos were taken in the early spring, or after some
serious runoff...

Likewise, Hans!

This was last week, after some fairly heavy rains. It seems to me that
this river is often a bit coloured, or then it's threatened by low
water levels. Muddy soil, agriculture, no large lakes upstream to
counterbalance rains.

Hans Please keep posting pics like this ! I would like some of your
Hans grayling pics too !

Sure, as soon as I can catch some.
