I posted a fly on ABPF that is wrapped with a ton of lead substitute wire
and heavy eyes. Now tomorrow, I am heading out with my full sinking line (6 weight) and see if I can get it down to those buggers. They fight well on fly gear, but not so impressive on 'regular' gear with 3-6 ounces of lead, eh? Maybe use a downrigger with fly lines, would that be Kosher? Last year, I did pretty well in shallow water with a sink tip and weighted flies, but I remember that is was very overcast and evidently Shad run shallower on overcast days. http://www.flyfishusa.com/newsletter/current/ Chris |
