Dave: email me at myronbuck at yahoo dot com. I'll be in Maine all next

WHOOPS, that reply was to the wrong Tim. Too many damn Tims on this
newsgroup...the Waynes are being challenged in numbers. You, sirrah,
are a Mainer, so let me answer you in our native tongue.

Yessa, I'll be stayin out to Arrowsic, up the room above the baahn, at
my friend Maahk's, who've I've known since we was both knee high to a
grasshoppa. Nice big place he has theyyah, but I wouldn't want to paint
it. And in the winta, by Geesey, let me tell ya, it gets so cold that
you have to throw your fahts on the woodstove just to know what you et
for dinnah. And let me tell you about the snow. I tell ya, way up above
the roof it was, just the chimney stickin out. But even still, it ain't
like back when we was kids. Nope, them was some northeasters back then.
Yessa. Used to jump out of the second story windows, right into the
snowbanks. Yep, those were the days, back then. The wind used blow so
hard, my prize hen laid the same egg three times. If someone was
talking to ya, you'd have to drive to the next county to hear what they
was sayying. Yessa. And don't get me stahted on mud season.

About next week. I know the FFIM clave is scheduled that week, and I
reckon it might sound nice enough to some, but to tell ya the truth,
the last thing I want to do with my week off is fight elbow to shoulder
with a bunch of summa complaints in their new fangled getups and high
and mighty fly fishin geaah. I feel like goin fishing, not standing
around an jawwin. I figggah, while all them toll-payyahs are mucking
about up ta Rangely, I can git on some watta downstate and mebbe have a
bit of time to mysself, and get close and personal like with some
trout. Ayuh, ayuh, ayuh, I reckon.

On the othah hand, I reckon it might be right nice to run into some old
buddys from my Guidin' days. I right reckon that one or two of them
will be around theyya. Yessa, now that I think of it, tell me the
particulars and I'll see if mebbe I can muckle on to a truck and mosey
up that way a bit. Ayuh.

conclave is up at the west branch/big eddy campground this year...i'll
be in the EO fri the 17th by 7am, up at the WB late afternoon

as for the rest of things: schoolies are everywhere, i can give you a
good spot on the sassanoa in arrowsic (i lived in arrowsic the past 2
years) that is easily accesible by kayak....i took 87 stripers from
this one spot last year

just north of me (i am in whitefield) both the st george & sheepscot
are fishing well...it has been real hot, but we got a very late start

kennebec at shawmut is JUST turning on...you could hit caddis & maybe
alders next week bigtime if the flows drop just a little

GLS has been on, but i haven't been up that way since april

Thanks for the info, Tim. How come we haven't met IRL before?

My friend in Arrowsic owns the ledge right across the river from the
Museum, and we baitcast for stripers right off the rocks into the eddy
line there. But I'd be up for knowing other good spots, and if you want
to email me rather than post it on line, I'm okay with that.

I think I'll try the Kenny at Shawmut during the week next week...thats
MY type of fishing :-) I don't know a lot of flycasting spots around
Bath, as my home was up past Bangor. But I have access to a canoe, and
all my gear.

But making a trip up to Pray's sounds nice, too. What are the exact
dates? When I was guiding the river there (we're talking 15-20 years
ago, for 6 years), that was my home away from home; we stayed in the
old cabin right at Cribworks (river left, at the spillway). If you're
ever fishing the pool below Staircase, I can tell you that I'm the one
who named the big rock on river left halfway down "Fist of God Rock"
(usually shortened to 'Fist Rock'). And I remember sitting on the rocks
in Sowednehunk stream watching the salmon swim up the ledges, water
arcing across their backs as they did the impossible. Back then, I
didn't even know what kind of fish they were, but I sure admired their
tenacity.
