Default State College Baseball

State College. PA is getting a major/minor league baseball team and has a
contest for its name. One fisherman suggested "Anglers", and it has made it
to the final five selections. There is a place to vote at
http://www.statecollegebaseball.com . If you like it, please give it a vote.
Now, could anyone just figure out a way to get the PSU Football team winning
again, I'll enjoy my fishing even more. Thanks for any votes.

I hate to say this, but Joe Pa has got to go.

In the dog-eat-dog world of recruiting it is an
almost insurmountable disadvantage to have an
elderly coach near retirement. Opposing recruiters
tell the kids "our coach will be here your entire
collegiate career, if you go to Penn State there's
no telling what kind of second rate replacement coach
you'll be playing for when you become a junior."

I saw it happen to Lou Henson in basketball, at some
point Penn State is just gonna have to put Paterno
out to pasture for the good of the program.

Hell with putting him out to pasture, just put him down.

Recuriting is only one problem. I understand from a very reliable
source that he periodically loses it on the sidelines during a game-
like forgetting who is on the team. He has done great things for the
school and for college football in general but if he doesn't know when
to go the administration should help him retire.

I bleed blue and white but this is getting too bad. A number of years
ago I ws fishing the Little J and stopped at the Spruce Creek
Outfitters shop and made the mistake of saying Joe neede to go. The
proprietor jumped all over me. " *&^%& it's not Joe;s fault, I know Joe
personally and bla blaa". Joe is afraid to retire because he has no
hobbiles. I should have told the guy at the SCO, "Do Joe a favor and
give him a rod and reel and teach him to fish".
