Hammer and I decide to fish the WON bass local region team tournament series
this year. Unfortunately the first points tourney for ABA is on the same day. I agonized over it some but Hammer and I decided to we would split up. I'll fish the WON opener on Havasu out of my boat, and Hammer will fish the first points tourney for ABA down here out of his boat. We will both fish for the team. I already figured I'ld take one of my light nets instead of the heavy rubber net I usually use so I have a chance of landing my own fish. I haven't fished Havasu in years. My first instinct was to head way down lake and hit some waters I fished as a kid, but Hammer thinks I should head up into the river above Havasu city and fish the river just like I fish the river here. I'm not looking for anybody's secret spots or aything. I'ld just like to get some general info about the lake this time of year. If there are any well known locl color combos etc. Like down here brown and orange (brown and purple if the water is badly stained) is one of the most popular jig colors except when the wind is strong and white jig tends to produce better. Anybody know of a Havasu area website with good genreal info or relatively recent fishing reports? -- Bob La Londe Win a Spinnerbait Tackle Kit Spinnerbait Tips & Tricks Contest Through the Month of September 2005 http://www.YumaBassMan.com |

WON magazine had a big article on Havasu last month, or this month.
