Default Cork filler (need to buy or make)

If your fly-rod handle is bust,
on no account fill it with dust,
it just has no feel,
and is likely to peel,
a dutchman is really a must!

Surgical tools are required,
and the workman must be inspired,
unless you are skilled,
then just have the butt milled,
when the guarantee is expired!

Of course it´s a simple thing,
to replace a single butt ring,
though this may be deferred,
as not really preferred,
by those who do things with swing!

One could just repair it with wood,
though this too is not very good,
the same thing with filler,
this is a style killer,
which nobody really should!

Mortice and tenon joints,
certainly have their good points,
as do various cutters,
like those used by gutters,
those whom hippocrates anoints!

Saving wine bottle corks,
is really only for dorks
best of all is a tree,
perhaps two, or yet three?
though this may result in some splorks!

My friends, dont believe what folk say,
there is always more than one way,
you can simply use glue,
with cork dust in it too!
to stop your butt wearing away!

Of course you could simply eschew,
dutchmen and cork dust too,
no need to pivot,
at one little divot,
just go and buy a rod new!

I've been advocating this for years!
