To the ROFFian Experts

I hear all kinds of grand pronouncement on ROFF and I do appreciate the
insight into the world that these have given me. Since we have such a
diverse group of experts with opinions in many fields, I think its
appropriate that I share these other noteworthy opinions:

Many of the opinions quoted on that page were perfectly reasonable,
even verifiably correct, given the circumstances and state of human
knowledge at the time. Now, if somebody were still clinging to the
same opinions for years after changing circumstances and improved
knowledge had utterly invalidated them, well, that would just be
sad.
