Default Converting a Chronarch into a Curado?

Well, not really. I received my 3.8 ratio Curado for Christmas today. I
tried it out in the back yard pond and I can see that the slower retrieval
rate SHOULD help my fishing.

I own an older Bantam Chronarch which is, I believe, a 5.1 retrieve ratio
reel. Can I buy another gear ( either Chronarch or Curado) and just switch
gears on the Chronarch to slow its rate of retrieve? ( I know about
taking half the line off, but that is not what I want to do ) . Any help
appreciated

Hey Rich, when you're done with that project can you turn my Grumman into a
Ranger 522?

Thanks!

NO, but if you look carefully at my goals, I can probably turn a Ranger 522
into a Grumman...

Rich,
How old is that Chronarch? If it is pearl white, it is a 6.3:1
retreive and you can add the Curado gear. I've been doing this for
years, except I've been changing to a 5:1 gear. If it's older (silver
with a power handle) you can not interchange the gear.

It is older, a silver one, I'm afraid.

I also have a gold FS ( but I like it very much ) would that work? RG
