Fisherman,

I am a student who is doing a project on the differences in the G.
Loomis ans St Croix fishing lines. If you would just take a minute to
answere my questions, it would be greatly appretiated.

1) How many G. Loomis rods do you own?
2) How many St Croix rods do you own?
3) Which company do you feel makes the better rods?
4) Which company gives you the best product for the best price?
5) Which company do you feel gives the best promotions?
6) Is there anything that you would like to tell me about your
experiences with either one of your fishing rods?

Thanks again, for those who complete this. It is greatly appretiated.

1. 3 G.Loomis & 3 Custom Rods made with G.Loomis Blanks. but I owned 16 at
one point before a robbery.
2. 0 St. Croix, but have used them (for trial purposes)
3. St. Croix makes the best spinning rod in their Elite Series, but overall,
G.Loomis GLX, IMX, and their technique specific rods are better.
4. Depends, G,Loomis for Casting and Trigger, St. Croix for Spinning
5. Neither
6. You can't go wrong with either, but go ahead and use St. Croix - I need
every advantage I can get. ;-)

Both are fast, very sensitive and strong when new. I like both brands
but i sure wish they wouldn't soften after a couple to three years of
use.

1) How many G. Loomis rods do you
own?

several dozen

2) How many St Croix rods do you own?

four

3) Which company do you feel makes
the better rods?

loomis until the last two years, now st croix

4) Which company gives you the best
product for the best price

st croix, now that loomis has cheap fuji handles and dozens of different
colored blanks for every type of fishing under the sun
5) Which company do you feel gives the
best promotions?

neither gives anything away that i know of.

6) Is there anything that you would like
to tell me about your experiences with
either one of your fishing rods?

loomis has much faster and better return policy and customer service.
although they made the rods kind of cheap with this new handle, they still
have lightning fast turnaround time on a warranty claim.

1) How many G. Loomis rods do you own?

***0 although I have built a couple rods for customers on G. Loomis blanks
when specifically requested.

2) How many St Croix rods do you own?

***26 at last count. But I was just at the factory today and got a blank
from their new line of rods, so as soon as I finish that, 27 I guess.

3) Which company do you feel makes the better rods?

***They both make fine rods, but I feel that St. Croix has the edge.

4) Which company gives you the best product for the best price?

***St. Croix without a doubt. One of the things that I don't like about
Loomis is the price for their products.

5) Which company do you feel gives the best promotions?

***I don't care about promotions, I care about quality and value.

6) Is there anything that you would like to tell me about your
experiences with either one of your fishing rods?

***I can fish rods of any brand or quality. Even before I started going to
the St. Croix factory, I was using their products. I looked all over,
trying different brands and made what I feel to be an informed decision.
Once I did tour the factory and saw the care that goes into the constuction
of the blanks, and the level of quality control, I was sold. Besides, I
trust St. Croix, their rods are tested "gator tuff", as Pat and Michael can
attest.
