Default Back to my own lake

I should be sueing someone for letting me go to Florida, then making me go
home. I can't even imagine catching anything like I had hooked there or saw
hooked there. Even the dinks were fighting like 2 and 3 pounders.

Went out early this morning for a little time on the lake with Dave V. He
met me at 6 and I had to be off the lake by 7:30 for work, so we opt for the
small lake here. Dave had a score to settle as he has skunked on this lake
like the last 10 trips out going back into late last year. The air temp was
about 45 degrees when we pulled up to the lake but winds were 20-25 mph,
putting a little chill in the air. We should have just head back to my house
for coffee and football but decided we will fish anyway.

I took three rods and Dave did as well, a few bags of worms, some hooks and
a spinner bait. Righ off the first point I had a watermelon/red speed worm
with an un-pegged 1/4 ox weight, bounced it about two or three times from
some submerged lillypads trying to break through and landed a nice 3 pounder
loaded with eggs, Dave switched to a green trick worm with a weight also, we
circled the lake and head back to where I caught my fish, we almost ran a
fish over from the wind pushing us towrds the grass, we backed off and Dave
threw his trick worm into the area where the swirl was, bang,,,fish on, The
skunking had ended, We fished a bit more and did get a few bites but no more
fish. So an hour and a half and two decent fish( By Northern Standards), but
good to be back out on the puddle pusher none the less. See how Saturday
fairs.
