Looking to buy a new boat cover & since I value your opinions ( most of
them anyway ), I'm looking for suggestions on what to buy or what not to buy. It must be trailerable & hopefullly use it for winter storage outside. |

(And Women) I replaced my Ranger Deluxe cover with one from Otto's and have never regretted it. Excellent quality. This particular model uses fiberglass bows, so hardware to accept those were mounted on the inside of the gunnel's. They have never been in the way. Nice low profile that saves fuel when trailering. Fits tight and has not leaked. My Ranger cover leaked a small amount from day one. The Ranger cover also went over the seat pedestals and therefore catches a lot of air when towing. With Otto's cover I remove the butt seats. If you are no where near Illinois, check and see if there is a shop in your area that does similar work and look at some. Otto's was doing a ski boat and a bunch of grain wagons that same day. So they can cover anything. They did mine in a day. We took the boat over early. Left it while we spent the day shopping in the area and picked it up later. I arraigned to do it that way and they were agreeable. Was a little over half of what the Ranger Deluxe cover cost at the time. Carlos |

Sure, you might spend a little more, but then the cover is exactly the way YOU want it. I had mine reinforced over the tops of the windshield, a special pocket made for the trolling motor, reinforcements over the cleats, velcroed cutouts so I can run an extension cord for the onboard charger, or add fuel or oil without removing the cover. I had mine made locally and it held up to trailering at speeds in excess of 80 mph. Then, there were two extendable "tent-poles" that went under the cover to tent snow, ice and water off. Pricey? Yes! Worth it? HECK YEAH!!! -- Steve @ OutdoorFrontiers http://www.outdoorfrontiers.com G & S Guide Service and Custom Rods http://www.herefishyfishy.com |
