Default Rod Builders? Guide placement?

Any rodbuilders out there? If so, I put this little thang together to
help "compute" the initial location of Guides. Pretty sure it's
accurate.

It's a great idea, but I don't like to use anything that requires me to
install anything additional on my computer. I've got enough stuff on my
computers already and I've gotten severely burned with viruses installing
"required" software in the past.

No software can replace a static displacement test, nor will it improve on
my line of sight. And it will never replace test casting Might as well be
using guide placement charts from any of the manufacturers.

Hey Jerry, that was a really nice gesture on your part! If I was a builder
I'd be glad to check it out, but I'm not unfortunately. Thanks for
spreading your generosity on ROFB & WELCOME!

Warren

I've got Excell installed on my computer, but when I go to the site, I get
this message....

Click here to install the Office 2003 Web Components.

And it won't let me go any further.

I didn't get that far. And as stated earlier I don't use guide placement
charts . I rely on static displacement tests, & line of sight.

As do I, but I thought I'd take a look anyway as a service to the guy.

I can't view the chart for the same reason that Steve mentioned. The link
for the web component is apparently to your e:\ drive and not on your
web-server.

What's your beef with Mudhole? I ask because I was considering making a
purchase from them.

There is nothing wrong with Mudhole that I've noticed, they have the best
access to American Tackle products as they are right next door and can pull
it off the shelf if they don't have it.
If you go to the Library at rodbuilding.org it has an article on doing a
static distribution test that will give you the best guide/rod performance,
can supply Rich Forhan's Revolver Rod formulas if you are inclined toward a
spiral wrapped rod. They also have other interesting articles in the
Library.
