Default Reel Deal at Orvis

I was looking to order another spare spool for the below reel and saw this:

http://www.orvis.com/store/product_c...3&pf%5Fid=44KY

This is a quality bar stock reel on sale for less than I paid and
they're giving you a free fly line! I have the model III on my 5 weight
and I like it.

I wonder what is going on with this reel. It seems like Orvis has had one
promotion after another. When I bought mine about a month ago, they included
a spare spool at no charge.

I'd guess they have a cheap manufacturer in China? but they need to move
the reels in quantity to get the price. It's a fine tooled reel at twice
the price, IMO. Talked to a guy that used one of the larger ones in the
salt on Bonefish and it worked great for him.

....thanks for the heads-up Willi, I just got off the phone with an order
for one of those little 4 wt jewels. Heck of a deal, they will load it with
backing and line as well for that price. Cool.

I also know several folks who have that reel and like it. But the deal
is also good with any of their mid to high priced reels. I agonized
over getting in on the deal but the fact that I had half a dozen
unused reels and 3 or 4 spools of new fly line made my decision easier
and I passed on it. (But then again the months not over yet. ;^)
