Welcome to the Cumberland..........long

This past weekend we decided to go way up the Cumberland River for some new
fishing areas and to generally just look around.Well,we saw plenty,in one
case we saw toooo much.
The fishing was good,most coming on small spinnerbaits and running
crankbaits into the bottom and just stopping them dead,the bass would kill
it when the bait rose a foot or so off the bottom.
But the real story is in the beautiful places to fish we found and some of
the people you see on the water.While working down a bank my partner
mentioned some folks camping on this point we were coming to.Next thing you
know I look up and there stands a woman on the shore,BIG bottle of Jack
Daniels in her hand (9:am) and to top it off she was NAKED as a Jaybird! My
partner dang near went off the front of the boat 'cause he hasn't seen but
one woman naked for 31 years!This woman would have field dressed at around
250#. Anyway.she starts wanting to talk to us while her 3 boyfriends are up
at the "campsite".We chose to mosy on along and kept fishing this creek we
were in.Thirty minutes later we hear gunfire coming from the area they were
in so we decide to get the heck out of there,quick.A drunk,naked,armed woman
is nothing to fool around with.We had to go right past them to get out of
there and when we went by she was the only one around,and she had on a
gunbelt w/ pistol in it,and a rifle under her right arm,still buck naked.I
don't know what happened to the other folks.
I could not concentrate on fishing the rest of the day.

Yup... that's Tennessee for ya. Ya never know what to expect 'round here.

Yes I do! In those hills there are entire towns where only last name shows
up in the phone book, ...
