Default re fishing hurts, france fishing, and the rest of the codswallop

Hi Group
just got back from some christmas winter carping in france.

I see the Group pet - Pete, Geoff, what or whoever - is back again, and some people have thrown him biscuits to chew on!! I seem to have missed some the the fun.
For those new to this NG Pete Geoff (whatever), is not a real person; she regularly sends out cross posted cut n pastes, hoping to gain an audience. If you have been unlucky with your fishing you can get some alternative sport with him/her. Try responding to Geoff with a size 14 hook and you get the drivel; respond with a size 4 and you get a good bite!!! for example, look at my post you now reading - I would gauge this post as 1" cube luncheon meat hair-rigged on a size 8. I may get a bite from Geoff Pete Herself, but doubt it; I may go later with single maggot on size 18 to get a response.
But that is fishing - sometimes you get them, sometimes you get a blank!!!!

Not much doing in france of course, given the cold; but the the few that I got were a bit raggged around teh mouths which i think is caused by large hooks. If you are gong to France for big Carp please note- size 8 or 6 is absolouteky fine for most up to 44lb (I cannot testify over this weight!). It is not necessary to 'think bid' and use use size 4, 2, or 1s.

Regards, Ian

Three blondes were taking a walk in the country when they came upon a line of tracks. The first blonde said, "Those must be deer tracks!" The second blonde said, "No, stupid, anyone can tell those are rabbit tracks!" The third blondie said, "No, you idiots, those are horse tracks!" They where still arguing ten minutes later when a train hit them.
