Snowshoe Hare's Foot and Calf Tail
Is there a substantial difference between the performance of snowshoe
hare and calf tail? The texture seems so similar, and snowshoe hare is hard to come by. Steve Maryland

Calf tail is considerably more coarse than snowshoe foot. As stated by Bob, the snowshoe floats a bit better, and collects a bit more in the way of air bubbles with it's finer texture. On the other hand, for wings on larger flies, calf's tail, and body hair is fine stuff. Tom
