In the midst of my annual attack on the racetrack(via remote betting account).
Thus far, having wagered tens of times this amount, I am up $22.40. Am taking
the selection of second-place horses to an art form. Thank God for place
wagering!!! Tipping my hand, I am dumping considerable sums on High Chapparal
in the coming Turf race, and have to, as a fly angler, back Perfect Drift in
the Classic(with 20 bucks or so dumped onto Funny Cide, whom I fear).

look for tin cup for donations at
Penn's Clave,
Tom

I bet that was nerve-racking. ;-)

A dead heat and a $6.40 payout. Congrats, first beer's on you next year
at Penn's. ;-)

Geez, where did that other other horse come from!!

A dead heat and a $6.40 payout. Congrats, first beer's on you next year
at Penn's. ;-)

Thanks, I would have rather seen the $14
payout a 6/1 shot should've paid, but was glad to collect decently.
Unfortunately, buoyed by this success, I managed to put up nearly half of the
days winnings, spread over Perfect Drift($80) and the feared Funny Cide($25).
My fear of the latter was that he might win, not that he would take my hot
horse out on the first freaking turn! Thus, I gained a decent little sum, had a
pleasant afternoon of yelling at the TV(kinda like those football games some
were whining about)! Probably should have been fishing, but a day of mild
debauchery isn't so bad, either.

....Oh, yeah, the first beer is always on me at Penn's....just look for the red
cooler with Yeunglings in it on the deck outside of clave central trailer.
