Default Castaic baits

An open letter to Castaic Baits

To Whom it may Concern:

I am posting this here because of a recent event I experienced with
Castaic baits that is unresolved and I am hoping that someone here
knows Mike Long or someone in the company besides the person I have
been dealing with.

Here is the deal.

Back in late December 2007, our local Basspro received a shipment of
Castaic platinum series baits. All the sunfish models were gone when
I got there and I already had some ordered anyway, so I bought a
couple of the gizzard shad. I had already been told by the person
that first suggested these swimbaits that sometimes the shad did not
run as well as the sunfish, but you could put some lead nails in the
bottom of them if they didn't and it would correct it.

So I take my gizzard shad home and give one a try. Well, it acts like
a dead shad instead of the vibrant action of the sunfish. So I put
lead nails in the bottom of it and it still doesn't swim.

When I get home I go to their website and use their contact link to
send them a note that I think they should consider making a gizzard
shad that is more the size of the sunfish so that it will swim. I
also tell them about my experience with the gizzard shad I bought.
That was it. I planned to take them back to Basspro and get my money
back in the next few days or maybe use them as they were.

Low and behold, I get an email from a Jason that says, "Send them back
and we will replace them" Great, I will be able to get sufish
instead. So, I send them back via USPS on 01/27/2007 and ask them to
replace them with sunfish.

Well, I wait a full month and receive nothing. So I write Jason an
attach his original email. He writes me back and asks when I returned
them and I reply with that info. Another few days and no response. I
write again and attach everything and ask for an acknowledgement of my
inquiry and he responds and says he is checking on the situation. I
wait a few days and ping him again and he asks me when I returned
them?????? So, I tell him one more time and that all the info is in
the bottom of the email. Several more days and no response. So I
write again. Still no response.

So at this point I feel they are jerking my chain because they are so
unorganized that they couldn't find my return if they had to. Either
that or they just don't care.
