Hwy 90 is closed to traffic in the area where it is literally "Beach
Blvd" on the MS coast - thus far, more out of caution than necessity as the breakers are, well, breaking over it a bit, and while the winds are brisk, thus far nothing really too bad. Lots of power outages in the metro area, but thus far, thankfully no reports of anything really bad damage-wise. On a far more serious note, Anderson Cooper's hair got not only wet, but almost mussed-up, but have no fear, oh fans of Gloria, Jr.- your idiot leader is having his own little decadence day even if they cancelled the official one (which, pardon the pun, kinda sucked...)...he even found a blown-over water oak to look all dangerous and heroic in front of...look, isn't there some nice young man up in NYC that will marry the boy so he can become a stay-at-home mother and homemaker and keep the **** out of here...? TC, R Heh heh. I'd be more bugged by Geraldo shouting desperately to "Save that man goddammit" about a rescuer securing a line to a propane tank. Interesting thing about Anderson Cooper: not only was he the posterboy for the now-defunct "Channel 1" that was broadcast in schools nationwide in the mid 80s, but he has a very well-heeled mom. The boy's got some bucks. --riverman |

Oh, he isn't in the running for "Mr. Popularity" down here, either. Hence the nickname, "Gloria Vanderbilt, Jr." That is one messed-up family...well, what's left of it... The boy's got some bucks. Don't know, don't care - he's an idiot, bucks or not. TC, R Unfortunately, I think that being an idiot is a current prequisite for being on broadcast news. What ever happened to the separation of News and Entertainment? They both suffer from terminal shallowness, and go together too much like Doritos and Coke. Pleasant on the surface, but will give you gas and kill you in the long run. --riverman |

The 6+ inches of rain here in my part of the Ozarks topped off the pond nicely. The fish seem to enjoy it and are hitting deer hair bugs with gusto. cheers oz, getting ready for the White River in Arkansas in a week and a half. |
