Green River Fishing question

Visiting the Green iver in april.
Want to flip a few flies there. Anybody have
suggestions on where is the best spots on the river??

Dan...I have not been (yet) but I have looked and considered a trip
that way...Some of the fishing is epic, from what I hear...I know
there
is a dammed area, near the NW corner of Colorado, camping, recreation
and a wide varaity of fishing spots on both sides of the dam..+/- 5
mile
stretch.....We have camped and hiked the section of the Green as it
passes through Diansor Colorado...That's a nice stretch....Lots of
history
in/on that river...Enjoy !!!!

The Green has several very distinct, and very distant from each other, areas
with good trout fishing.

The most famous ( and very heavily used ) is in Utah below the
WhatEverItIsDam. Be aware that that section is accessed almost entirely
from boats and is VERY crowded ( as of my one and only visit, a few years
back ). My, personal, experience was pulling in expecting to spend 10
days or two weeks and leaving after a single day ... "good fishing" ... bad
vibes. Lots of people like it, I didn't.

Are you referring to the tailwater below Flaming Gorge? Its pretty
heavily fished and there can be a lot of boat traffic. If it rains, Red
Creek can muddy up the water.

Had reasonable success some years ago with bead head scuds #14 and
smaller. Can't remember the color.

If it is snow-free by that time, go upriver from Pinedale to the fence
at the end of the private lands -- just before the slow, climbing NE-E-
SE turn up to the headwaters. Anywhere beyond that is great fly
water. Watch out for mama moose while wading.
