I stood and watched Fran tie some Wulffs when Peter Charles and I
fished the Ausable River some years back. He had just been in the
hospital and he apologized for tying so slow! Slow? He could whip out
a perfectly tied dry fly with a minimum of effort.

He will be missed.

I was in his shop last summer. He was physically hurting it was
obvious and I am sorry to hear the news of his passing. Certainly the
end of an era in that country!
