I need a little advise. I have a family vacation planned to the Outer
Banks in June. We are staying in Duck. I have heard from locals (the tackle shop on Rt. 12 in Duck) the fishing in Currituck Sound is not very productive. Does anyone have any suggestions on where the fishing might be better? I don't need anyone's GPS coordinates or anything, just a little guidance. DC |

There are a few options but keep in mind that without a boat flyfishing
on the Outer Banks can be quite humbling, particulary the surf. The area that Iam somewhat familiar with is a bit south of Duck, its about a 45 drive to the Oregon Inlet Fishing Center, park in the far parking lot and look for a huge ships propeller.Wade in just about exactly where the propeller is ...There are a few holes in the area that can produce some action ,blues, pompano, lizard fish ,trout and some surprises can be had..Look for other fisherman in the area and ask questions .. Have fun... JC |

Give the west end of Manns Harbor Bridge a try if you are wading. If
you want a great half-day charter at low cost for fly fishing, try Capt. Dave Dudley. If you want to try spinning tackle, let him take you outside and pick up on some of those 50 lb. stripers they are getting now. Some of the folks in the office are heading down Monday to try for the ocean side Rock. Wayne to fish is human....to release Divine!! (DC) wrote in message . com... I need a little advise. I must admit they were one after another for the four hours that we lasted. The fisherman from the beaches were landing the occassional fish with one landing a 48 pounder. My bud's house is in the sound located about a 1/2 mile behind the oregon inlet marina. The logjams at the marina were unheard of for this time of year. We have landed a few fish in the Cape Fear river here in Wilmington but nothing like the fishing north of hear at the Banks. tightlines, Wayne the redfish |

Willi and greetings to you to Willi. Have been back in Wilmington at home and sal****er fishing. Am looking forward to the western conclave this summer. Hope to see you there. I even found about twenty pics of the first western conclave on my desktop that I have never forwarded to Warren. I sent him an email but not sure if I had a good email address. As soon as I hear from him I will forward them to him. tightlines, Wayne the redfish |

Leaving for the OBX in an hour. Poacher is gassed up and ready to Rock!!!
I tied up a couple of 12" long Blue-back Herring flys last night for the 50 pounders they are pulling in out on the ocean side. -- Wayne To Fish is Human...To Release Divine! Wind got up behind the cold front and blew like an SOB. Only a couple of
boats got out and only one of them had any luck. Ours was not one of them. At noon yesterday our capt. (boat was the Poacher)called to say it would be a no-go for the day. We had hoped for an afternoon trip since the all-day was scrubbed. Water on the beach was muddy for 1000' out. The Sound looked like the Mississippi on a bad day. Looks like things settled down last night and this afternoon's boats did well. Catch the wind right and this week will be a killer on big stripers. -- Wayne To Fish is Human...To Release Divine!
