The problem as I see it is this bill, like ALL bills of this size and scope, be
they "authored" by Dems, the GOP, "progressives," independents or Lady Ga Ga, is
that they A) rarely do what they are intended to do effectively if at all and B)
contain so much bloat and pork so as to render them a massive waste of tax
dollars. This one is no different. There is no doubt that unreformed health
care will continue to be a substantive issue in the US and the world. But until
the partisan politics are put aside (and the industries involved are left to
fend for themselves, as they should be), there will not be any substantive
reform, with or without the passage of this piece of **** bill. And no, I don't
hold it (particularly) against the Dems for supporting this thing - the GOP has
done the exact same partisan nonsense with their own partisan pet bills, which
were just as bloated and pork-laden.

Don't forget, Louie, that whatever good reasons there might have once been for
going into Afghanistan and Iraq, they have long since turned into royal
cluster****s and the GOP was and is right there with a checkbook that didn't
belong to them and a flag they don't deserve to wave cheering the whole thing
along (and yep, the Dems were and are doing the exact same thing).

The bottom line to it all is that Obama is neither good or bad, per se, but
rather, he is exactly as I feared - just another pol looking out for his own
political future. And unfortunately, he isn't even among the more effective
pols from his own party.

Hm.......

Nope.

I mean, it's a valiant effort (given the circumstances). It really
does almost look like there's something you want to say......if only
you could figure out what it is and what it might relate to.

But that's not at all the same thing as saying something.

Back to work.

in trying to behave something like what he supposes an adult to be, is
not yet ready to give up hope entirely. however, contrary to the
twaddle served up by various "holy" men throughout history, patience
is a finite resource.

I am too. Although I have an aol e-mail (same one I've had for a
skillion years), I do not get their news pages. But, nontheless, it is
an interesting article considering aol is more liberal than
conservative.

AOLland

....yah Dave...the big problem here is the AOL factor.....that and Ross Perot
was warning us about our healthcare problem ...ummm how many years ago was
that?

You can complain...any one can complain...but wake up and you can see who is
responsible...it's that guy you see in the mirror every morning...

More that 25 years ago I tried to get our union to take the city's money and
develop our own insurance company...of course...they said why?????...no
need????? well I am retired...so ,...I have no idea what the union is
talking about today...

I guess my point is this..we (America) has long been a culture gimme now and
not worry about tomorrow...what's that grasshopper???

How are you liking those southern climes?

Very much, although today was cold (high 50s) and very stormy. Lots of
hiking, golf, and a little fishing.
We'll be heading back to NE in May.
