![]() Hello, The kids are finished with college and the wife and I have decided to enjoy life a bit. We've decided on SE Alaska, late July/August. Prince of Wales looks intriguing, but having never visited the area so do all the other islands I would appreciate any tips, pointers on selecting lodging, guides, equipment etc. After a bit of a web search the possibilities are overwhelming. DE,
If you are thinking of anything in the Anchorage, Alaska area, check out Talon Guide Services, http://www.talonguideservice.com . Dave Little is the owner and he's a fantastic guy as well as a great guide. You'll have a lot of fun fishing with Dave. You can also reach Dave at Best of luck, Doug DE wrote in message . .. Island Pt Lodge does not cater to fly fishers but I signed on with a fly fishing guide who organized a group trip. http://www.flyfishingarts.com It's a no frills option. Food is decent. Cost is very cheap compared to other lodges. If you are comfortable doing a little hiking and being responsible for your own boat (18' Lund Alaskan aluminum deep vee) you'll have more fun and catch more fish. You can take the boats at when you want. Go fishing after dinner if you want, etc. This is only one man's experience. YMMV. Mu |
