Default Penns Clave Bronzeback Flotilla Update

Did some driving today, talked to two shop owners and have devised
what I think could be considered a *plan*. Subject to approval, of
course.

Departure Point = New Berlin. According to Mapquest, the trip from
Coburn to New Berlin is just over 30 miles and about an hour long.
There's a park just downstream of the PA204 bridge that has a crude
boat ramp. It's a very public area right behind the American Legion
bldg. Should be practically zero risk of vandalism, etc. while we're
gone.

Destination = Kratzerville. Should be about a 6 mile float with lots
of excellent fishing. No boat ramp at the departure point, but we're
not exactly hauling 200hp Bass 'n' Ski boats. This is private land
but is supposedly OK as a landing area. I will make a point to knock
on a door or two before clave time to ask permission.

The drive from Kratzerville to New Berlin is short - 12 minutes
according to Mapquest.

Here's a link to a map of the area:
http://www.topozone.com/map.asp?z=18...& datum=nad83

By canoe, I can provide floatation for one other angler and can also
carry a cooler.

Flies: Ted recommended wet flies - big ones - preferably a cast of
2-3. He likes yellow on this creek at this time. He also recommended
a Reub Wood.

Of course poppers, buggers, hellgramites, crayfish and locusts may
also be effective. Stiff leaders and strong tippet material
recommended. 0X-2X?

As always, YMMV.

Looking forward to it,
Tom G

Some of you guys are traveling great distances to fish some of the
finest trout waters in the eastern half of North America and you're
gonna go chuck ****in' wooly buggers to small mouth friggin' bass ?!?

ARE YOU CRAZY !!!!!

Never mind, don't answer that, it was a rhetorical question.

It's like going to Paris and saying, yeah, the Louvre is cool, the
restaurants are nice and the sidewalk cafes are neat but we really
have to set aside one day to take in a baseball game.

ARE YOU CRAZY !!!!!

But I repeat myself.

Ever wonder what it would be like to decide for yourself what you like and
what you don't? Don't bother.......you wouldn't like it.

May I play through? I was thinking as I read about the float trip that it
would really make for a pleasant change of pace at Penns. Since youze guyz will
be there for a week or better anyway, a little smallie action should be a nice
shift. Good luck.

But then again, I'd be the guy searching for a hot dog in Paris.

Thanks.

A quick Google search turned up 723 hits on Saucisse de Francfort.

Good luck!

Wolfgang
who will refrain from pointing out that paris is unlikely to be the
best place to look for the one and only true authentic hot dog......or
ANY of the one and only true authentic hot dogs, for that matter.

Indian Joe remembers---seems like many Americans visiting Paris go to
McDonalds for american made dogs--i only stopped to use the clean bathroom.
But i did order a German spring sausage someplace--the ingrediants were
chopper rather than ground- ah a piece of lung--some more heart--a little
piece of goider.
