As you may know, I'm not a big proponent of the Perfection Loop in
rope except in cases where you're certain you don't ever need to untie it. There are several ways of tying it, but often a very simple way seems to be overlooked. Lets start off with the first diagram on this page, ignoring the arrow path: http://www.geocities.com/roo_two/butterflyloop.html Lets number the strands against the tyer's palm as 1, 2, and 3 from left to right. First, you draw strand 1 right, under strands 2 & 3. Then you draw strand 2 right over strand 3 and through the bight made from strand 1. Done. I'm replying to your message, not to you..be to those(newsgroup readers)

How to tie your shoes by Allen
