I want a boat rod but don't know what to look for. There is something to do
with weight class. I don't want and uptide/downtide whatever they are. As for what type of fish I am after basically I will drop the weight/bate/hook over the side and see what happens. I might catch a small fish I might catch a medium fish I might catch a large fish I don't know. any help greatly accepted |

What type of fishing are you referring to (example Bass fishing, walleye,
redfish or etc.)? Almost every rod I have can be used from the bank, pier, surf or out of the boat. My rods are all stuff that can be purchased from Cabelas, Bass Pro, Wal-Mart or any tackle shop. 7 foot medium or medium-heavy action rods. Some are baitcasters and some spinning tackle. The only rods I have for strictly using out of a boat are ones I use to troll for tuna with or fish drop line for red snapper. These rods are all 5 to 6 foot heavy action with large unlevel Penn reels. Very expensive gear for less then 5 trips a year offshore according to my wife. I remind her that every time I bring home yellowfin tuna, wahoo, Mahi-Mahi or red snapper. I especially remind her how much she owes me for the grilled Mahi-Mahi. Sarge |
