A couple of weeks ago a post requesting help to locate DT 8wt intermediate
lines with braided core specifically for competition accuracy casting during the antipodean winter. In Australia it was very difficult to locate anyone that stocked such lines as the trend is towards WF lines in general. At best I could only find mono core line which retains a bit of 'memory' in colder conditions. Following advice from this news group Hardy's USA was contacted with this dilemma and the parent company Cortland have come through with a sample line that has just arrived in the post. They had only been contacted for advice of where to locate anyone that may stock such a line. It is obviously intended for salt water work as it is pale blue in colour but the line has a nice slick & supple feel. I am looking forward to heading over to the local fly club casting jetty to try it out this evening. Thanks to everyone with advice and to Cortland for this level of customer service. |
