Default rattle trap

how do you guys fish rattle traps in natural lakes? I have a tournament
wed. evening from 6:00 0 9:00 pm eastern time the lake I am fishing is
kinda stained to clear with a sandy bottom, I fished it last week and
could only get bit on a small jerkbait and a green and white senko, but
only short fish. The lake has alot of 15- 16 bass in it. Ireally think a
trap will work, what do you guys think.
