![]() Just got a new depthfinder ((Eagle Tri-Finder). Occasionally I use another boat I have which I have to keep dry-docked at a local lake. About 10 years ago, before it finally broke, I mounted the transducer of my old depthfinder to a piece of plywood and used a c-clamp to attach it to the back of whatever boat I was using. Was very convenient. Along with my new one came 3 mounting options. One of them is to mount the transducer to the bullet on your trolling motor (I use a transom). Since the "fin" on my motor is very large, I don't think I'll have a problem with potentially smashing it on something. Are there any other drawbacks to this option ? |

Sure. You won't be able to use it unless you are trolling. Many people use
two. One on the trolling motor and a transom mount. Dan Eric Lang wrote: Just got a new depthfinder ((Eagle Tri-Finder). Be careful how you route the wiring down the trolling motor shaft. I cut into the wiring once when I was dropping the motor in the water. It got caught up in the mounting bracket. |

![]() Thanks.. I will take that into consideration if I choose to mount it this way.. I'll use tie wraps to control movement of the wire. Definately will have to watch scrapping it on the bracket I see... Be careful how you route the wiring down the trolling motor shaft. I cut into the wiring once when I was dropping the motor in the water. It got caught up in the mounting bracket. |
