Hi,
I have a small boat and plan to go trolling with a 200g paravane I just bought. I am quite new to sea fishing. What lures are best for this job? I have some 3 inch storm shads which look great and swim nice. Are they suitable? Should I get some larger 6 inch ones or some spining lures perhaps? BTW I will be fishing in the adriatic, so the best I can hope for is a nice bass or amberjack. Thanks for the advice |

We have had some very big mackerel trolling ten inch sandeel imitations, in uk waters pollock and bass take them too. With big lures and large hooks a small paravane may not pull the hooks home properly. If you get a series of pull-outs you can get a very similar effect with a -spherical- lead weight which will have enough momentum to set a large hook. BTW I will be fishing in the adriatic, so the best I can hope for is a nice bass or amberjack. :-) Cheerio, -- |
