Had a great morning last weekend on lake Skiatook. Hit the water at
4:30 am, right before the bass tourney goobers got there. Despite the huge turnout of boats, they all went way past us while we fished within 1/2 mile of the ramp. The Kentucky bass were schooling like white bass or hybrids. We pulled them in left and right on everything from top water poppers to a muddler minnow I tied as one of my very first flies over 10 years ago. What a blast on a 5 wt rod, which made even the occassional bluegill a lot of fun to battle. |
