Question on flyswap

even officially announced, there is no damn reason why you can't do
60! Perhaps we can make it optional to be in *both* groups if that
may be the case??????? G

Unofficially, Stan is correct. Through consultation with the highest
authorities (Tim & Stan), I will be assuming the mantle of swapmeister for
the FS2004. However, inasmuch as the popularity of this swap is also its
drawback from a workload perspective, the official announcement will
endeavor to keep the required quantity down to a mangeable level for the
tiers without limiting the number of participants. Some trick, eh?

Will it be possible to enter more than one "group" so a guy/gal can
get a complete set of all flies tied?

Ummmmmm, what's the deadline for those of us not yet old enough to
fart dust and who will be out "celebrating" and probably not arrive

Well, yeah ... except I'll probably run out of #16 hooks and
proper-sized hackle for the d*mn*d things. ;-)

I admit that would be tempting, but like someone (Willi?) said, it
starts to seem like work after a couple dozen or so. Heck, if it
wasn't for the fact that I tie in my workshop with a colebeer by my
side, I'd probably have given up long ago. :-)

You might try upsizing to a size 4 and tying a few to try during a hex hatch. I
had a friend that found a size 4 adams worked on Town Lake a few years ago
during a hex hatch.

I marked the date on the calander that lives in the office at my house this
morning. I have tried to get back to the Jellystone area with a fly rod at
least every 3 years since 1954 and see no reason to quit now. Expect to see me
on an old BMW motorcycle this year as I plan on going over to Seattle after the
clave...Ihave never ridden from there to San Diego before and have wanted to do
that run all of my life. I have become a bit jaded on the FFF International
Conclave as they seem to discourage those that prefer fishing for warm water
fishes.

Wow, tying a #4 *anything* would be a treat after 28 of those #16's.
:-) I've been tying parachute Adams for visibility, but even I
probably could manage to see a #4 Adams.

So, anyone want to have a flyswap that's nothing but oversize
versions of classic dries? ;-)

That sounds like a hell of a ride. We'll have a cold one waiting for
you when you arrive.

I can kind of understand why because of the location and all. There
really isn't all that much warm water fishing up here so I doubt it
is much of a serious issue for most people. There are supposedly
ponds up here that have perch and some bass, but they are few and far
between. I haven't found any around here, but it sure would be nice
to find a few.
