Ikas do not excite me. They get bites for me, but they tend to block hook sets even on an extra wide gap hook. I may try them on a hitchhiker hook and see if that keeps them back enough for hook ups. Bob, I use the 5/0 Owner TWISTLOCK™ 3X w/ CENTERING PIN http://www.ownerhooks.com/pages/prod.../basshooks.htm He http://www.bassdozer.com/articles/mi...ward-ika.shtml I goop mine up with "Hot sauce" crawdad scent. The trick for me is to let the bass have this bait and not "pop" set the hook like a plastic worm. I set the hook more with a strong sweeping motion. I know what you mean however. The hooksets are not as "for sure" as with other baits. I like the 4" bait because it tends to get me bigger fish. Here is another rigging for the 3": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hs1N9...eature=related Now here is an excellent way to rig the "standard" Ika: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iUdWS...eature=related Hope this helps tight lines |
