I looked up the definition in the dictionary, but the entries I've found
we
1. past tense of cleaver
2. A cylindrical hardwood stick used in a pair as a percussion

instrument.
3. A syncopated two-bar musical pattern.

I'm assuming it means gathering?

Mostly open invitation fishing gatherings of Roffians. Ie all invited
within a few shifting and general guidelines typically established by a
volunteer clave master. (Things like don't beat your dog, limits on
firearms, ****ing matches but not much more. Degree of formal arrangements
vary. You should come to one. The few Ive been to have been a kick.

Yes, I'm planning on attending the Sandy River Spey Clave on May 14-15,
along the Washington/Oregon border. I believe there will be a few Roffians
there, sounds like a lot of fun.

I may make it there this year. Padishar Creel and I talked about going, but
something distracted us last year. Oh yeah, the river walk in San Antonio
called and I just had to visit.

Randy, lets go to this Spey Clave. I talked with Ron Lauzon last night about
taking some Spey Casting lessons. They are pretty reasonable for one-on-one
or for two? Hell, if I were into golf, I would be taking lessons and he
offers them in the evening and on weekends as well as a 'school' thing. My
Spey casting could use a LOT of improvement...

In the context of ROFF maybe, but claves amongst the various electronic
fly fishing groups were going on long before ROFF had it's first
*official* clave.

That would have been me then . I only asked Tom that because I used
to do a few of the compuserve gatherings. I remember Harry Mason as
posting frequently to the Compuserve forum but I don't remember Tom
posting there.
