I have never heard of any caught from shore but that doesn't mean it can't happen. I did read about some babies caught from a 1000' fishing pier. Dan Before Ivan took out the Ala. State pier, (825 feet) huge Kings were caught off of it all season long, every season, they were caught free lining live bait, with blue runners (hard tails) being the best bait, with L Y's being the number two choice. Free lining is done with a small float or just the line,, the bait hooked in the tail and allowed to swim freely "out",, a number 4 treble hook, about 18 inches of steel single strand (16 to 27 lb test) for a leader -- Rodney Long, Inventor of the Long Shot "WIGGLE" rig, SpecTastic Thread Boomerang Fishing Pro. ,Stand Out Hooks ,Stand Out Lures, Mojo's Rock Hopper & Rig Saver weights, Decoy Activator and the EZKnot http://www.ezknot.com |

Steve They say they have plans to rebuild, (on their web site) but looking at the new park plans they take up the pier's old parking lot with camp sites. They must be planning on moving the new pier further down the beach -- Rodney Long, Inventor of the Long Shot "WIGGLE" rig, SpecTastic Thread Boomerang Fishing Pro. ,Stand Out Hooks ,Stand Out Lures, Mojo's Rock Hopper & Rig Saver weights, Decoy Activator and the EZKnot http://www.ezknot.com |
