I plan on going fishing for the next few days in the backwoods. It will be for
brookies since bass season isn't open as yet. I always catch some perch and
some small bass on this type of outing. There will be report to follow.

I was away fishing for a couple of days. I was targeting brook trout. Didn't
catch any but i caught a lot of perch and a small bass that was outside it's
usual territory. I was using a 5.5 ft lightning rod. At one point the lure was
a small jointed rapala. The ease to cast was quite surpising and will be using
the same to target bass in one month's time. I may even try it on pike this
weekend. It was sure tempting to try for bass but it would be unlawful.
The scenery was beautiful and there was a hoardes of biting insects.
I noticed some tracks on the trail on two separate occasions and they tell
quite a story. A deer passes through followed by a moose and then a wolf at a
quicker pace and straight as an arrow. Timing was about 15 minutes apart. I
imagine there was quite skirmish down the trail further. There was also tracks
of a martin or fisher but thats another story.
Sorry I can't say i caught a lot of fish but i don't live in Richz or SteveH
country. lol
