Small size and NO casting distance ! 10lb test is too lite. Start with 17lb. test for salt water. At best the pocket fisherman is for freshwater and for children. It won't handle the salty environment. -- Dave http://www.claymania.com/removal-trojan-adware.html http://www.ik-cs.com/got-a-virus.htm |

Sincerely, Joanne Come on Dave. I have one around somewhere that somebody gave, After completely disassembling, cleaning and lubricating it WORKS GREAT... seven out of ten casts. I get pretty good distance too. With a measly little 2 ounce pancake sinker I can cast an amazing 30 or 40 feet almost every time. Now about line size. Come on. I have landed 10 pound stripers on 6lb test. The pocket Fisherman will handle atleast 10lb with a minimum of snarls. No more than three out of ten casts anyway. Give that bad boy a try. Heck, you land a good fish with it and I'll send a letter to IGFA suggesting a NEW RECORD CLASS just for pocket fishermen. |

I don't need to cast since I'll probably just hang it out of the kayak. Shouldn't have to work too hard to get a fish into the boat since the side of the boat is only inches above the water line. I guess I can't go wrong with a $20 investment. If it doesn't work, I'll follow Dave's suggestion and give it to the grandkids. -- Sincerely, Joanne If it's right for you, then it's right, . . . . . for you!!! I live on the beach here in Jersey and I know what the salt water can do to gear. 7 out of 10 casts ? I expect, and I get, 39 or of 40 casts ! 30 or 40 feet is a joke. Hell with my 12' Diawa with 17lb. test I can cast a 100 yards {with the wind at my back :-) } with a 2 1/4 oz. Krocodile or Gator spoon The thing is a novelty toy and nothing more. -- Dave http://www.claymania.com/removal-trojan-adware.html http://www.ik-cs.com/got-a-virus.htm |
