Ah, yes. Kitt's rendition is undoubtedly the definitive version
against which all others are judged (and found wanting). There are a
few others in that category, songs I'd just as soon never hear
anybody else attempt. White Christmas by Bing Crosby, Rudolph the Red
Nosed Reindeer by Gene Autry, and The Christmas Song by Johnny Mathis
come to mind immediately. I'm sure there are others.

Nat Cole did The Christmas Song before Mathis, and I suspect that's the
version you are used to hearing. IIRC, Mel Torme wrote it specifically
with him in mind, but either way, his version is the original of the
two.

Thought I heard a Madonna rendition of "Santa Baby" the other day.
The song fits her, but I think Eartha Kitt nailed it.

Do a google search for "Madonna killed American pie" by, IIRC, Bob
Rivers. And look around for some Bob Rivers' Christmas songs.

Eeewww. If popular opinion is to be believed, Madonna is entertaining
to some; but I've always (well, not always) held the opinion that if
you're actually talented, you don't need to show teenage boys your
tits.

Think Anna Nicole had the right idea going the opposite direction.
Wondering what her rendition of "Santa Baby" would sound like?

By far my favorite Christmas song and Kitt does a nice job, however I enjoy
watching and listening to Jessica Simpson's version.

Happy Holidays!

I can't do the Flash stuff here in the clutches of the company IT
dept., but I'll give it a listen when I get home. Love the Drifters,
so you have my hopes up. :-)
