Yeah, well if you can't agree on something like Xmas what can you agree
on? It's not like Conservatives have hijacked Christmas and repurposed
it as yet another vote-corralling wedge issue ... wait a minute .

And here's something to really scare the bejeebers out of you: We agree
on a lot more than you realize, and if you ever decide to make the
switch from "liberal" to _liberal_, we'd agree on a lot more. And no,
liberal is not libertarian.

The one Christmas song that always gets me is the one with the line,
"I'll be home for Christmas, if only in my dreams..." Brings that
bittersweet thing on. There's always a war someplace that was
supposed to be over by Christmas.

There's always someone down at the fire station working on the eve and
the day. There are cops and doctors and infrastructure repair people
out there.

But it's the soldier aspect that gets me every time.

I think it was a Bing Crosby song.
