![]() "Bob Weinberger" wrote in message news:mM%Hh.22589$tf.14730@trndny06... I do as well on a long term basis at the craps table as anyone I know or have seen and I often am at the tables several times each week. I make only those bets that give the house the least edge and I fully utilize all the comps that are available. Still, I know better than to consider my gambling more than a form of entertainment - very cheap for me as I usually do well in craps tournaments where the tournament reward is based solely on my performance relative to others in the tournament gambling at the same time. Bob Weinberger La Grande, OR Bob, I have no interest in tournaments For us, by knowing the sets of the dice, 3v's or 7 sets, lets "us" know what the shooter is setting, as sometimes we're spread out pretty good around the table. We actually do pretty well. And since we're not playing against others, we have a very conservative style of play. One of two wins on place bets, and take-em down. We usually start out somewhat low on our wagers, $60 on the 6 & 8, and or $50 on the 5 and 9. If we inch ahead we double our wagers, $120 on the 6 and the 8. Or further ahead we play the inside game, with $100 on the 5 and the 9. but seldom do we place the 4 & 10. Add in the random "lays" on the 4 or the 10 for $2 big ones, and that's pretty much our simple game plan. On some occasions we play the "Don'ts". Passline and taking the odds only when we're shooting. It's conservative, but we inch ahead. We pretty much stay clear of all other bets on the table. Rarely do I see anyone take down their place bets, as we do it pretty often. I purchased a 2nd home in Henderson when the housing market went crazy up there. Couldn't believe housing was so cheap, so I paid cash for it. Now I have a place to stay when I layover. What's funny, is I have ran into some good craps players in fly-fishing. Good luck with your play in tournaments, fwiw, -tom |
