Even with wooly buggers by the time all is tallied you're gonna get off cheaper buying rather than tying. My mind just multiplied a guess of $2.50 per fly times a hundred, and $250 seemed a more than adequate capital expenditure for materials & tools for a hundred wooly buggers. Yeah, I agree there's no saving money tying a dozen flies for personal use, but in production quantities, it seemed reasonable. Needless to say, I valued labor at zero in that calculation.
