Default Sunday morning fun

Last weekend, I checked out a find I made - a small little pond
(former gravel pit) - all of 2 acres. I only had an hour to fish, but
managed a 15 and 16" LM in that time, fishing from shore.

Today I went back w/ the little boat. I got on the water about 6.30,
and by 7.30, I had boated three - 2 LM and a Rock Bass.

The fish were holding tight to shore, it the rock/concrete rip-rap, or
in the brush/weeds of shore line that wasn't rip rapped. I got 3 on a
Baby Bass SW, hooked and lost 2 more, also had a hit/ miss on a SW
buzzbait in some thin emergent weeds.

Soft plastics also produced - 1 (15.5") on a stick bait sent to me by
Bob La Londe, and two on stick baits from Randy. I wacky rigged were I
could - weedy shore lines, but after hanging up in wood and rip rap -
switched to T rig. Missed a few to boot.

Biggest was 15.5", while the smallest was 14". The Rock Bass went
10-11".

Had the whole pond to myself. Deepest water I found was 10'.

Quit a little after 11.00.

Sounds like a fun morning Jim and a decent weekend fishing. If you want to
continue to fish weedless with the wacky rig, simply fold the stick in half,
hook the bait lengthwise and let the tip of the hook poke into the bottom of
the stick. Hope that makes sense. I don't get hung up that way and the
sticks are soft enough to get the hook through when you get bit
