The trail is a route throug a lot of geologic features created by the Bretz floods. . Among other things they also carred the Willamette Metorite from Canada where it landed to Oregon where it was discovered. The plan is a collection of sites and interpritive centers in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana. There are several good guide books out on the floods, they have pictures and GPS coordinates of some pretty cool stuff. An 800 foot high wall of water draining a lake the size of Lake Erie can create some interesting rock piles. A lot more interesting that looking into a rain cloud.
