Both Mike Connor and the bozos like you and Fortenberry and others who
enjoy poking sticks at him have succeeded in ruining ROFF for any
meaningful discussion of any topic worthy of interest. Congratulations.

Nobody can ruin roff for those who want to have fly fishing
discussions. Just start discussing away, what's stopping you ?

As for poking the Loony, anyone here is capable of setting him
off on a foul-mouthed tirade. He's so thin-skinned, full of
himself, and quick-tempered that he's a spectacle waiting to
happen. Most poke him accidentally and unintentionally and
some, like myself, poke him intentionally but it really makes
no difference he's basically self-pokable.

Actually, I'm off to Alaska tomorrow morning, meeting up with Bruiser
and Willi and Bevin to float the Kisaralik for silvers, rainbows,
grayling, char, and pike, with maybe some lake trout, pinks, and chums
thrown in. Perfect timing. Maybe ROFF will return to some decent state
of affairs by the time I return, but I doubt it.

Ta ta. Enjoy yourselves.

Good luck on your trip. I hope you enjoy yourselves, and will let us
know how you made out.

My regards to Willi and the rest. I always appreciated their posts.

Yep, 'ol Dennis the Menace is a man of virtue, honor, and integrety.

Op *--of course the I have been plotting big trouble for moose and
squirrel!--

I would assume that, if you chose to post there, you could create a
new yahoo account and give that as your email addy.

FWIW, after his off-the-cuff attack, Dennis emailed me personally and
made an offer to bury the hatchet. Sort of a strange guy, that
Dennis.

Myron, having spent some time with you, I thought you were a pretty
decent bloke, sensible, talented, and basically just a nice guy.

Can you tell me why you would encourage that stupid asshole to go and
harass somebody on another board? *Apart from the fact that your
suggestion of simply getting another account at Yahoo fortunately won
´t work as boards log IP´s.

The stupid ******* went to that the board with the express purpose of
harassing people, and getting banned, and he is also defaming the
board owner here on this board.

If you people had been sensible in the first place, and not allowed
yourselves to be whipped up and manipulated by Fortenberry, none of
this would have occurred.

Something else which I am curious about, as a schoolteacher at an
international school, how can you even take the risk of consorting
with some of the **** on this board?

This group, and many others, are fed all over the place, it is a cheap
way of bumping up the total number of posts and screwing advertisers
for more money.

You did not even stop one board form doing it, much less all the
others, and now you are not only encouraging people to go and harass
the owner, ( if he actually is the owner), but telling them how to go
about it.

WHY?

Mike, I'm not encouraging him to go harass folks. If anything, I'm
speaking from a mix of personal desire and reflecting on the
reasonableness of Tom Littleton, who I believe is also banned, as I
am. I wouldn't mind being able to post there, as it seems that some of
the regulars on NEFF seem like pretty reasonable folks with things to
contribute. And being a New Englander, I fish some of the same waters
regularly.

If Op brings a different agenda, then it might be my fault for not
realizing it: I haven't kept up with the hundreds of posts on this
issue in the past week, nor do I keep a accurate mental log of who
says what. However, he has never been a 'stupid asshole' to me, nor do
I inherently think of him that way. I might be wrong on that; time
will certainly tell. :-)

But if anything, my Internationalism tells me that the extremists in
each camp should not be the ones to define the actual gross
relationships. Certainly there were folks in NEFF who enjoyed fanning
the flames, as Ken is prone to do here. But neither Ken nor that bozo
on NEFF should define how the two groups should interact, neither
should the folks who are flaming you define how others here feel about
you. You can count on me, for example, to not jump on any pigpile with
you on the bottom. Although your actions seem extreme and erratic to
me at times, unlike most of the folks here, I know your expertise and
generosity, and find those unassailable. And I can separate behaviors
from the person...you are, and remain, a friend of mine.

actually, I have never been banned from NEFF(pretty good restraint on their
part, over the first few days). My stuff from here, or ROFFT, is blocked
from publication onto NEFF, at my request. I would echo your comments about
the vast number of NEFF posters.

Ah, the lone wolf returns after summering on the tundra. Good to see
you back, my friend.
Since you probably missed it, here is the t-shirt my bride just got
me.

That's not funny.
