And right there in the campground, 10 0r 15 minutes after the kids leave the water....I've had to use my net... When I was camped there two years ago, I caught the biggest fish of my trip not more than a medium cast's distance from my campsite. Wolf was there to witness it (hell, I caught on his fly rod with a Pass Lake on the end of the tippet), and supposedly he even got a picture or two. Chuck Vance (hi Jeff ... and goatman!) |

Jeff, Thanks for the good wishes. Hope all is well in your little slice of heaven. I''m still around. I read ROFF almost daily, but haven't felt the need to jump into the middle of beancounters, Richard's daily pursuit of something/*any*thing he can find to complain about re Obama, Mike Connor and his handpuppets, etc. I haven't fished at all since my trip to Italy last year. The drought has really hit the streams that I normally fish, and I can't really justify stressing the fish anymore than they already are being stressed. I hope to remedy my lack of fishing by hitting the GSMNP/ Elkmont in early May. The plan is to do another week roughing it just like the last time I saw you. :-) Carol's gallery is still going, but it's been hit hard by the economy, too. She's considering closing when her lease is up in August. And yes, the Kinkster is running for governater as a Democrat. It will be hilarious to see him go up against Rick "Hairboy" Perry. I can't imagine a greater contrast between candidates. And I truly believe that Kinky has a chance, given how fed up people are with Perry (and the fact that Kinky is on a major party ticket should help). Chuck Vance (still alive and well) |
