"Bite Me",
Thanks for the reply... I actually decided on the Die Hard Group 34 AGM. The big daddy. After looking at the trolling motor prices and reviews, I decided to stick with my Minn Kota Power Drive|55 AP. Therefore, I went for the biggest bang for my buck since I'm sticking to only 12 volts. I really wanted to get away from the Minn Kota, but none of the Motorguide 24's have very good reviews in the bow mount foot control class. Those things are waaaaay more expensive than I had thought they would be. I was just looking for a rack n pinion with around 70+ lbs and shoot, they start at around $600.00 bucks! I figured I should be able to get into a basic 24 for around $300 or so. *pffft Anyway, yah, I'll run this AGM for a bit and see how she kicks anyway. Thanks again for the reply... Doug I run group 30s in my big boat, and group 29s in my little boat. Group 27s (what most dealers I have seen dump in a boat) are too small. I am running the cehap walmart group 29s in ym littel boat, and getting two years plus out of them. The Group 30s in my big boat are Cabelas private label AGMs, and they are over 2 years old, and still pull near max all day long when flipping the current. |

Good thing you didn't get one. The rack and pinion steering motors suck. The push pull cable setup in the Tour Editions are far superior, but yes they do cost more. |
