My favorite small assed mountain stream rod is a 7'6" 3wt.

I have a 'boo that's a 6'3" 3wt, better strung with 4wt,
but I find it's just too short for the dapping, mending
and rolling you have to do in those tight places.

Yeah I've notice that about small rods...they are better strung with a
heavier line...but in my situation...I'd hesitate to go with anything longer
than a 6'.....
