In is upcoming book, Tom Ridge, the head of the Department of Homeland
Security under President Bush, writes that he was pressured to raise the
"terror alert" to help Bush win re-election in 2004.

That this happened was obvious at the time to anyone with any sense, but
now it's confirmed.

It amounts to treason.

BTW, Ridge is a jerk. He should have resigned at the time instead of

Maybe, but what does this have to do with the post with which you are
replying.

I thought the contrast between something false about the Obama heath
insurance reform proposals (coverage of illegal aliens) and something true
about the treason of the Bush administration (according to Tom Ridge) was
apt.
