Yup, the slit is there to allow the water to drain. Haven't had a problem with
mine.

You are right, once I get out of the water they drain no problem. The
problem is having to wade around with a big heavy bunch of water in your
waders. Maybe I will upgrade to the pro guides.

So it's heavier than the water surrounding it? The extra resistance must be
what's bugging you.
